Although the Windows 8 Start screen looks quite cool with the live tiles and the apps built by Microsoft and Bing are awesome, what about games developers?
Like with Windows Phone, I can imagine that x-box is built into Windows 8 and that is all well and good however what about games which you download like Minecraft?
Mincecraft is the 1st person game where you dig and place blocks to build whatever you like fighting monsters whilst you do so. It is one of the best PC games off all time and it was made even more popular earlier this year when it came out on x-box 360. It works better with a keyboard and mouse as that is how you control your character so I can see it being quite awkward to play with a trackpad and a small keyboard dock. That is why earler this week, when Microsoft e-mailed the creator of Minecraft, Markus "Notch" Persson, he replied telling them to "stop trying to ruin the PC as an open platform". He even went so far to say that "I'd rather have minecraft not run on win 8 at all than to play along. Maybe we can convince a few people not to switch to win 8 that way,"
It was discovered recently that because of the way apps are written for Windows 8, Android apps are compatible with all the Windows 8 devices so developers don't need to make a seperate Android and Windows 8 app. (This is good news for Microsoft)
