What to expect
The Kickstarter.com project, the Pebble watch, will be making some sort of announcement during CES. Writers and journalists are unsure if it will be the official release of the 'smart' watch or if it will just be an update on the progress the builders of the watch are making.
Visitors to the show are expecting to see a huge amount of weird and wonderful Windows 8 devices. Maybe, if visitors are really lucky, a technology company might even make a practical device which consumers may even consider buying. I say that as if it is not lightly because some of the current Windows 8 tablets are a bit silly and nobody in the right mind would buy them; sometimes because of the high price, other times because of lack of useful features. Some of the Windows 8 devices which cost over £500 don't even have a VGA port!
Hopefully CES will provide the general public with some ultra ultra-books, some tremendous tablets, and some desirable desktop PC's.
Fingers crossed anyway.
Samsung is apparently preparing to show a much anticipated flexible phone. According to various sources it will have a 5.5-inch screen and it will be able to bend both forward and backwards. I don't know why you would want to do that with your phone however it certainly looks cool!
Nokia showed off a flexible phone last year which used a lot of gestures to move around the operating system. For example you would bend it backwards to zoom out.
Earlier this week Samsung sent a picture to the press (left) showing what looks like a portrait TV. This is obscure because all television programs are shot in landscape. The only videos which are shot in portrait are those of smartphone owners who obviously don't know how to use a camera.
